About the Pattern:

This beginner-friendly pattern is for a knitted square that is worked up flat in a simple seed stitch pattern giving a zig zag effect! 

Yarn: Lion Brand Pound of Love in Cranberry- 80 yards (Size 4 Weight; 454 g/ 16 oz,  1020 yd; 100% acrylic)

Needles & Hooks:

• US 10.5 6.5 mm 16 in. circular knitting needles 

Notions: 

• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• Measuring tape

Gauge:

• Gauge is 12 st. by 17 rows for a 4 x 4 in. square in stockinette 

Finished Size:

• The finished size is 8 by 8 in.

Abbreviations:

K: Knit 

P: Purl

Pattern:

Cast on 24 sts on your knitting needles.

Row 1 (RS): *P1, K5. rep * across

Row 2: *P4, k1, p1, rep * across

Row 3: *K2, P1, K3, rep * across

Row 4: *P2, K1, P3, Rep * across

Row 5: *K4, P1, K1, Rep * across

Row 6: *K1, P5, Rep * across

Row 7: *K4, P1, K1, Rep * across

Row 8: *P2, K1, P3, rep * across

Row 9: *K2, P1, K3, rep * across

Row 10: *P4, K1 , P1, Rep * across

Repeat rows 1 through 10 until the piece measures 8 in. from cast on edge ending with Row 7 (this will be your last row).

Bind off, cut yarn, and weave in all loose ends. Steam block to 8 x 8 in. dimensions.
