Finished Size:
The finished ear warmer size is 3 in. wide by 10.5 in. in length when laid flat (doubled over), fits head circumference of 21.5 in.
The ear warmer can be adjusted by doing more or less rows of TSS before adding the surface bobbles..
Pattern Notes:
This pattern is for an easy textured chunky Tunisian crochet ear warmer made with 100% wool! The best part is that it can be made with a regular hook and is worked flat. It’s the perfect beginner-friendly project to get started with Tunisian crochet!
This pattern uses a few Tunisian crochet techniques. Use the following video tutorials as needed:
Row 1 (Foundation Row): Pick up a loop in the back bump of each chain. Complete normal RetP. (7 sts)
Row 2 to 36: TSS across (7 sts). (or continue Tss across for the length needed to match your head circumference) For reference, my head circumference is 21.5 inches: and I continued the Tss rows for 20 inches. Leaving a long tail,, cut yarn (approximately 8 to 10 inches). This tail will be used later for seaming up the ear warmer.
Starting at one end of the ear warmer, count 2 rows up and count to the 4th stitch (this will be the center stitch). With Color B Make Bo in this st. Moving vertically, skip 1 st, sl st into next st and make Bo in the same st. Refer to this video for how to make a surface bobble st. Continue making bobbles until there is only 1 st remaining. Leaving a 6 in. tail, cut yarn. Weave in end on the backside of ear warmer. With the wrong side facing you, join the ends of the ear warmer together with whip st or using your preferred method of seaming using the tail left at the beginning. Turn right side out and enjoy your finished make!
