The first Tunisian crochet hook I used was a Clover Takumi Bamboo 5.5 mm. double-ended Tunisian crochet hook since that’s one of the few Tunisian crochet hooks my local Jo-Ann’s carried. I was so excited to try Tunisian crochet! I jumped over to Toni’s (TL Yarncrafts) beginner series and started working up a swatch of the simple stitch and I fell in love with this stitch and texture!

Recently, I received the entire Interchangeable Tunisian Crochet Hook Takumi Combo Set so I could try it out and give my followers a review (Thank You, Clover USA!). Let me tell you, I have always loved Clover Takumi bamboo products. The wood finish is so nice and works smoothly with any yarn fiber!
Follow along as I show you everything that the set comes with and how I feel about this beautiful Tunisian crochet hook set!
The set comes with the following components:
- Interchangeable high-quality bamboo Tunisian crochet hooks with stainless steel screws in sizes: E through L (3.5 mm, 3.75 mm, 4.0 mm, 4.5 mm, 5.0 mm, 5.5 mm, 6.0 mm, 6.5 mm, and 8.0 mm)
- Sturdy nylon cords with stainless steel screw caps in the following lengths: 16 in, 24 in, 29 in, 36 in, and 48 in.
- 5 bamboo stoppers with screws pinned into a styrofoam cushion for easy storage
- 100% cotton compact and portable canvas carrying case with a neat compartment for each item with a tie to close it up
I always love the quality of bamboo products that Clover produces so it isn’t a surprise that these hooks work smoothly with my worsted weight yarn as well as my chunky yarn! There is zero snagging and none of my stitches slip off the hook!
My favorite part about this set is that it comes with such a practical and organized case. There is a spot to store and keep each item safe!
The Tunisian crochet hook is made so beautifully. The bamboo is so smooth and yarn just glides over it. The head of the hook is not too sharp or too blunt. It is just right for picking up stitches and working a variety of stitch types!

Just look at how beautiful these stoppers are! They aren’t just beautiful to look at but they are practical. They stay put once you screw them on. I haven’t had any issues with stoppers unscrewing or falling off, no matter what the weight of my project is. I am currently working on a chunky cowl with the size L hook and a 36 in. cord using Lion Brand Woolease Thick and Quick and I’m halfway through and the stopper is still in place!
The locking system for these interchangeable Tunisian crochet hooks is so intuitive. As soon as I got the set, I opened it up and started playing around with it. I didn’t have to read the package to know what to do. Next, I just grabbed one of the hooks and grabbed a cord and screwed it in place! I tested it out by giving it a little pull and it was locked in place!
After locking the Tunisian crochet hook and cord together, I went on to attach the stopper in the same way, I just had to screw it to the other end of the cord. Then I picked up my yarn and started crocheting! My stitches feel like butter over the seamless joints between the parts and I love that. There is no need to stop and move my stitches manually across the joints! Every time I use this set, I am in crochet dreamland!
