Tunisian Crochet Patterns Ravelry – The Story Behind The Design

If you're looking for a crochet pillow pattern easy level, you're in the right place! This Tunisian Luxe Pillow is great for any room and works up quick!

There’s a really funny story behind how this chunky crochet pillow cover design came about! I was visiting my cousin in Oklahoma in Fall of last year. It was around the time my cousin (her brother) and his wife had their baby shower. We went out for some last-minute errands the day before the baby shower. Of course, we had to make a stop at Michael’s because I needed a fur pom to complete my nephew’s bonnet (a blue version of my Silver Lining Bonnet)!

In my defense, my cousin also needed some things for the baby shower! So there we were at Michael’s and I was taking my sweet time browsing the aisles. She spotted this Loops & Threads Sweet Snuggles yarn. She kept squishing it and saying “it’s just SO soft.” I couldn’t agree more, it really was so soft and snuggly!

So we picked it up and I told her I’ll make something for her. After the baby shower, she was planning on moving to Houston from Oklahoma for work. She had never lived anywhere other than Oklahoma so it was a big change for her! I wanted to give her something that she could decorate her new place with and feel at home.

Story Continued

A little bit of background: my cousin was my first frenemy sis (cuz let’s face it sister’s fight often). She’s the first person I knew when I came to America from overseas. She’s also the one who taught me the American ways (i.e., snacking while binging on Nick Jr. shows after school). My cousin is also the one who pushed me to start this little business of mine. So needless to say she has a very special place in my heart (Love you cuzzo!). So this design means a lot to me and I hope it does to her too!

If you're looking for a crochet pillow pattern easy level, you're in the right place! This Tunisian Luxe Pillow is great for any room and works up quick!

While she was packing at 2 AM a couple of days before her move, I was sitting there working this pillow up. When I was done I showed her both sides and she chose the wrong side to be displayed. I’m glad she did, it’s just so chunky and gives off serious cozy vibes! It’s the perfect crochet pillow pattern with vintage vibes.

The Tunisian crochet football-themed pattern was originally inspired by my nephew who will be arriving this December! My cousin and his wife are big-time College Football fans, so much so that their baby is officially a Boomer Cougar (a product of Oklahoma Sooners and Houston Cougars)! This pattern is for a Tunisian crochet football pattern that can be made as an applique, face or body scrubby, or as a stuffie or toy! You will work flat, embroider some eyes and a smile on the front, and then sew pieces together. You can add some polyfil before closing all the way up to make it into a stuffie. I’ve also added a band at the back so you or your little one can hold onto the ball more securely! Video tutorials are included for all stitches.

Crochet Baby Romper Pattern- Tunisian Tinsel Romper

This Tunisian crochet baby romper pattern will take you back in time to relive the 90s with the velvet and the bell bottom-like pant legs. The pocket adds a vintage touch with a hint of gold! Last year I sat down and created this piece with the intention of releasing the pattern in time for the holidays. However, I did not feel comfortable and confident enough with grading the different sizes and actually doing a test at that time.

It’s here! A crochet baby romper that I designed with Tunisian crochet beginner and advanced crocheters in mind!

When I started working on this design, I didn’t know if it would end up fitting an actual baby/kid. There is a serious lack of consistent sizing information around knit and crochet baby clothing, especially when it comes to pant sizes, so I did some digging to get all the measurements I needed! I persisted though because I had promised myself that I will release this crochet baby romper suit pattern before the year ends. A special shout out to my designer friend who also tested this pattern for me for helping out with sizing information thanks Bonnie from Woodland Stitchcraft!

Here’s what my first prototype of the design looked like in all its glory with the uneven sides and super small size.

Fast forward a year and I finally figured the math out! My testers did an amazing job! Check out their beautiful work!

So today, I present to you, my Tunisian Tinsel Romper pattern! This pattern comes in sizes 0-3 months all the way up to 5T (11” to 20” chest circumference). It is a loose-fitting Tunisian crochet baby romper pattern that is worked flat and seamed. The garment has 2 inches of positive ease. Instructions also show how to customize the length for each section.

The sizes are color-coded throughout the pattern for ease and video tutorials are linked throughout. Schematics show the different measurements included. There is also a full sizing chart along with written instructions. This is a super cute pattern perfect for holiday photos! It would also be a great baby shower gift or for a special occasion such as a birthday party, wedding, or a newborn photoshoot!

This year I decided to make a modified Tunisian crochet version of my Foxy Scarf and Cowl set. I released this knitting pattern last year and now I have a crochet pattern for all my crochet friends! I am so excited to release this pattern as part of a fun Fall Favorites blog hop. This blog hop is by the Design Create Repeat blog. You can see all of the featured designs here.

Anytime I design a mommy and me set, I always think of subtle ways of matching. Mommy doesn’t want to look like a kid right?! I’ve made sure to keep things subtle by leaving out the eyes on the adult triangle scarf. I think it looks perfect! This foxy pattern is great because it is a fast crochet scarf made with size 6 bulky weight yarn and a 9.0 mm size 13 Tunisian crochet hook (here is my favorite set of Tunisian crochet hooks). Here I used Lion Brand Yarn Wool-Ease Thick and Quick in Spice, Fisherman, and Black.

Just for today, I am offering the free PDF for this foxy scarf crochet pattern in my Ravelry shop! The code you can use is FallFave! The deal will expire tomorrow at 8 AM EST so hurry! Click the box below to get to the pattern on Ravelry!
