The sky and clouds theme is a common one we see in nursery room decor and in the past I have designed using this surface bobble stitch technique and it turned out very cute so I thought I would attempt it with this beautiful and super soft Bernat Forever Fleece. What makes this an even more special design is that my little guy actually helped me pick these colors out at a recent trip to JoAnns!
This blanket pattern is also part of the Giftstravaganza Blog Hop hosted by Marie of Underground Crafter. This blog hop featured a new FREE design each day this month featuring handmade holiday gift ideas! My feature date is November 18th and you will be able to grab the PDF for FREE for 24 hours starting on Nov. 18th!

Make bobbles horizontally. Count four rows up from the foundation row and count 10 stitches to the left, starting here, make Sbo into the tenth st from the left. Skip next st, turn the blanket sideways to make it easier to work the bobbles. Make Sbo and continue making Sbo in this pattern for two more Sbo. You should have a total of 4 Sbo in this row.
Now count one stitch up and one stitch to the right, make Sbo, continue the pattern as above until you have a total of 3 Sbo in this row. The 3 Sbo in this row should offset the Sbo in the row below to form the cloud shape. Leave a 6 in. tail and cut yarn.
Continue this pattern according to the placement of the Sbo in the color chart.

Inspiration
A couple of months ago, I was invited to participate in a fun challenge by Hobbii Yarn, the Japandi Challenge and I had to hop on! The challenge was based on a Japanese x Scandinavian theme – and we were invited to explore and interpret these themes through our pattern designing skills.
I chose to create a Tunisian crochet scarf using Hobbii Pearly Haze (the softest most beautiful yarn I have ever used) to represent the Japandi theme. I decided on these beautiful soft colors that worked so well together. I chose Turkish Blue, Teal, and Cream. Initially, I did a poll to ask whether you all wanted stripes or colorblock sections for the color work and a lot of people said stripes but the designer in my couldn’t let go of the idea of color blocks so I did a mix of both. The scarf has a lot of character and can be worn in many different ways! Of course I had to finish off with some fringe to complete the look!
A huge thank you to Hobbi Yarn for providing the yarn for this pattern!
Ps. If you’re on my mailing list, be sure to check your email for a special discount!
About Pattern
This pattern is inspired by the Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetic. This scarf will be a simple and relaxing design created with the Tunisian knit stitch and some basic colorwork. Fringe will be added to finish off the design. Tunisian crochet is making a comeback and this pattern will be great for beginners and advanced crocheters alike for getting familiar with the basic Tunisian crochet stitches and minimalist colorwork design. It will be the perfect addition to any winter wardrobe! This pattern is worked flat in one piece, bottom-up. The techniques used in this pattern include Tunisian crochet knit stitch and changing colors in Tunisian crochet. This pattern can be completed by an advanced-beginner. The pattern includes video tutorials for the techniques used. The pattern is divided into 4 sections and each section has an accompanying overview picture and color chart provided.
Hook: Size L 8.0 mm Tunisian crochet hook at least 12 in. long or with 12 in. cord and stopper. I used my Furls Cruella Deville Tunisian crochet hook. It is currently not in stock but my other faves are the Clover Takumi Tunisian crochet hooks or the Denise Interchangeable Hooks!
The kit consists of a choice of 16 or 26 Wander skeins, hook, tote, and digital pattern. You can choose from 4 color palettes in order to create the hypnotic spiral design in one of two sizes.
This pattern is for a super simple beginner-friendly Tunisian crochet one-eyed monster. It’s the perfect addition to your Halloween decor or to add to little ones trick or treat bags and will help you practice the basic Tunisian crochet stitches with a regular crochet hook! The best part is that it works up super fast so it’s great for Halloween favors!
*Double the yarn amounts for Col A and Col B if you would like to make a plushie
Hook:
Size P 10 mm crochet hook, I used my Furls Crochet Special Edition Carousel Hook *Note: If you have a straight hook, that would work even better, make sure it is at least 8 in. long to ensure all the stitches fit on the hook.
Gauge is 3 sts over 2 rows in Tunisian simple stitch for a 1 x 1 in. square
Finished Size:
The finished size is 5 x 3.5 in.

Tunisian Crochet Placemat Pattern Inspiration:
Back in May I was invited to participate in a fun challenge by Hobbii Yarn and I had to hop on! The challenge was based on the four elements – Earth, Sky, Fire, and Water – and we were invited to explore and interpret these elements through our pattern designing skills.
I chose Earth and decided to create a minimalist kitchen set using Hobbii Friends cotton 8/8 to represent the Earth element.
I made some coasters and a matching placemat. Before I settled on this design, I played around with stitch combinations and different ways to add colorwork. The first option was Tunisian simple stitch with basic colorwork (1st pic), second option was Tunisian simple stitch and then added colorwork using cross stitch (2nd pic), and the third option was Tunisian simple stitch for the colorwork part and Honeycomb for the plain part (3rd pic). After some input and contemplation, I decided on the cross stitch version! I liked that it adds colorwork without actually doing any colorwork or carrying floats and I love that it’s a subtle minimalist touch. I absolutely love how it turned out!

Design Inspiration:
Like many of my fellow cocheters, I am waiting for Fall to arrive because I am done with this heat! Also Fall is my absolute favorite season for so many reasons. One reason is that my birthday comes in Fall! I love the crisp cool breeze in the Fall, the weather is just perfect for crocheting. I designed this pattern with that cool Autumn breeze in mind. Something to drape around you as you crunch those Fall leaves and have your Apple Cider/Pumpkin Lattes. Ps. I cannot do Pumpkin flavored anything although I don’t mind pumpkins floating around as decor! You could also wear the Autumn Diamonds Cape as you sit by a campfire/bonfire roasting some marshmallows.
This free crochet cape pattern is a collaboration for an ongoing Blog Hop hosted by Crochet Foundry Magazine. You can find a lot of amazing free patterns featured over on the blog hop here. I chose to design this gorgeous cape using the Wander Yarn because I have loved working with it in the past. I also designed a Color block Wrap last year for Furls Crochet using this yarn and I absolutely loved how it turned out. You can find the Colors of the Wind Wrap pattern here.
I knew I wanted to design something that doesn’t require a Tunisian crochet hook so I went with the Entrelac technique which I recently became hooked on (no pun intended). You can find a complete 3-part series that takes you through the technique over on my YouTube Channel which I highly recommend you watch before getting started. Check out the Tunisian Crochet Entrelac Playlist here. I have included a FULL photo tutorial as part of this pattern which you’ll find throughout the written instructions.
I added an oversized hood to give a dramatic effect although the hood is optional. You will need a Tunisian crochet hook for the hood. I also wanted to incorporate the honeycomb stitch in some way because it’s my favorite Tunisian crochet stitch. I used it to add a band to the hood and I love the contrast against the Tunisian simple stitch.
This design was a bit of a challenge because the Entrelac stitch is different than just straight Tunisian crochet since you are working in blocks and it gives a chevron/jagged effect to the finished project. I wanted to keep one edge straight to counter that effect so I added an entrelac edging and finished it off with a single crochet border all around to add a finished look.
I hope you love the design and love making your own Autumn Diamonds Cape! Please don’t forget to tag me on Instagram @noorsknits and Facebook @noorsknits1 if you make it!
This pattern is for an advanced beginner textured Tunisian crochet entrelac hooded cape! It’s the perfect accessory for your Fall wardrobe. Practice some basic Tunisian crochet stitches while creating a cozy cape! The best part is you don’t need a Tunisian crochet hook for the cape! You will need one to make the hood which is optional! A regular crochet hook is used because only a small number of sts are held on the hook for each block.
The following instructions are implied:
The loop already on the hook at the beginning of the row counts as the first st.
Return Pass: Follow the foundation row and each row with the Return Pass.
Return Pass: *Yarn over, pull through two loops; repeat from * until 1 loop remains on the hook. *This is different from the normal return pass, you will not be chaining 1 at the beginning of the return pass unless it is an edge block*
Normal Return Pass: Ch 1, *yarn over, pull through two loops; repeat from * until 1 loop remains on the hook.
Edging Return Pass: *Yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook; rep from * until three loops remain on hook. Pull through all 3 loops.
Each Entrelac Row consists of Blocks of Tunisian Crochet. Each Block is made by working rows of Tunisian Crochet over a small section of sts from the previous row.
Row 7 of each Block is not worked in Tunisian Crochet, but is worked in a single pass of sl sts only. The yarn is fastened off at the end of each Entrelac Row and the next color is joined to the beginning of the row for the next Entrelac Row.
The odd-numbered Entrelac Rows are made of blocks of Col A Thatch and the even-numbered rows are made of blocks of Col B Mahogany.
